Ok so now you've run the tests had the symptoms and have to deal with it. Well SURPRISE! You CAN lose weight with a non-functioning thyroid.
It's Calorie Maintenace, it's what you eat, when you eat it, and WHAT you EAT IT WITH!!
Selenium is the octaine your metabolisim runs on, so if you get multi-vitamins like " One a Day Weight smart" They're loaded with it, or you can eat 12 almonds a day.
.Have your bigest meal of the day.. FIRST . That way you have all day when you're up and active to keep working off what you eat.
Instead of having supper AFTER work and sitting and then going to bed.. where it goes to "storage" have breakfast before bed, and supper first thing!
Limit the Fats! They skip a step and go "straight to storage".. and NOT where you want them!
Watch your servings.. it's easy to settle in with a movie or a book and a bag of cookies.. and suddenly... you're at the bottom of the bag!
Put your snacks in baggies a serving ( or two.. who's gonna eat only 24 chips!) in each.. and switch to cereals for snacks.. I LOve the Berry Blast Cheerios. :P
DON"T EAT FATTY FOODS WITH BEER!!! Alcohol but especially in Beer, retards the breakdown of fats.. so to "storage" it goes!
Exercise. 20 min a day will tone and lose wieght And it doesn't have to be all at once.. climb the stairs instead of the elevator to work,
take a walk on one of the 10 min breaks instead of sitting int he break room... Go for a brisk walk after work, get off the bus 4 stops before your usual one...
and follow this formulae.
Taking too many calories off at once leads your body to thinking its starving, slowing your metabolisim and making it HARDER to lose weight
so any time you "binge" all the extra goes to storage...AND that includes when you get off the diet!!! Therefore the Yo-yo effect.
Take your weight in pounds.... Multiply it by ELEVEN. This is the calories you need to maintain you at the weight you are now.
Take only TWO HUNDRED TO FIVE HUNDRED calories off. any more and it's "starvation time"
THEN stay away fromt he scale for a coupla months. this will keep you from being discouraged. for you'll lose a pound or two a week.. and you get yourself
with the "I've been doing this for a month and I've ONLY lost four pounds?!?" But in Two it's Eight and three its TWELVE! ( OR 24 if you lose two a week. )
Those flavoured Tunas are great for this.. one of tose and a bagle fills you up.. and it's not HUGE in calories.. :D
But the secret is to keep your calories two to five hundred LESS than you need... I had to bring UP my calorie intake..
and lost 30+ lbs while eating TWO CHOCOLATE BARS A DAY!!
